A RECORDING of the late Kurt Cobain covering The Beatles’ seminal ‘And I Love Her’ has emerged.
Discovered by director Brett Morgan after he attained unprecedented access to Cobain’s recordings and personal effects during the making of new documentary Montage Of Heck, it features the legendary grunge pioneer performing the track in a solemn and sedate manner; free from the overwhelming aggression and unbridled angst that punctuated many of his finest compositions.
Speaking in reference to the recording, Morgan expressed his surprise towards unearthing the previously undocumented relic, stating ‘Nobody in Kurt’s life — not his management, wife, bandmates — had ever heard his Beatles thing.’
