LCD SOUNDSYSTEM have announced plans to unveil new material during their five-night residency at Brooklyn Steel.

Getting underway this evening at the East Williamsburg location, a poster displayed at the venue has made their plans clear but has highlighted that they come with a special caveat.

Frank and honest with their fanbase, the band have stated:

“We have a special plea. Please don’t film the old songs. We already made a whole movie out of those and you’re not gonna find a ‘better angle’ with your iPhone than Spike Jonze found with his camera. Please don’t film the new songs. It’d be a real gutpunch to all the people who have been working insanely hard for the last 18 months to release this music in the way we want to release it.”

Set to be released via Columbia, frontman James Murphy had confirmed that work on the record was underway in January and it would be ‘done soon.’
