LEWIS CAPALDI’S famous Chewbacca mask from TRNSMT 2019 has been auctioned for a grand total of £12, 142.
The Scottish pop icon delivered one of the festival’s most memorable moments earlier this year when he wore the mask to open his Main Stage performance as a response to a jibe made by Noel Gallagher.
The mask was then auctioned on ebay by festival promoters DF Concerts to donate proceedings to Tiny Changes, the mental health charity set up in memory of Frightened Rabbit’s Scott Hutchison. Scottish hero Paolo Nutini stepped in to buy the mask and donate a massive £10,000 to the charity before putting it up for auction once more on Instagiving.
After being passed between some of the biggest names in music, the mask has now found a home and has been auctioned for a massive £12,142 with all proceeds going to Tiny Changes.
A spokesperson from the charity said “Big UP for Noel, Lewis and Paolo for helping us #maketinychanges”.
