THE LIBERTINES have announced details of their first record in 11 years. Having recently reunited to schedule a string of festival dates and perform in front of 1000’s of adoring fans, the band have declared that the new LP will be titled Anthems For Doomed Youth.
Set to be their third full length release, the 12 track album will be their first since 2004’s self-titled album: a record which essentially chronicled their demise in the midst of inter-personal issues and drug addiction.
With Pete Doherty spending the best part of a year recuperating in Thailand and the band seemingly in a good place, the world waits with baited breath to hear what the next evolution of The Libertines is likely to sound like.
Anthems For Doomed Youth will emerge on the 4th September 2015; perhaps we’ll even get a chance to preview some tracks when they perform on the Main Stage at this year’s T in the Park.
