LIVERPOOL Sound City Festival announces The Vaccines as headliners of this year’s festival.
The band are confirmed as the Friday night closing act. They will join headliners Belle & Sebastian and The Flaming Lips at the festival which takes place between 22-24 May 2015.
Sound City have also announced the first wave of acts on the rest of the bill including big names such as drum and bass pioneer Roni Size, Canadian hardcore punks F*cked Up, Sean Lennon’s The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, former Supergrass front man Gaz Coombes, leftfield singer/songwriter Jane Weaverand and Kiwi Psyc-rock outfit Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
Sound City CEO Dave Pichilingi said: “We promised a massive and credible line-up this year and we delivered. The Vaccines, The Flaming Lips and Belle & Sebastian will play to an audience of thousands in one of the coolest cities in the world on the banks of the River Mersey in the unique setting of our brand new Docklands home. It does not get much better than that.”
