A previously shelved album from Miles Kane’s first band The Little Flames is set to finally be released into the public domain.
Based in his hometown of Liverpool and part of the Deltasonic label which brought us music from The Coral and The Zutons to name but a few, Kane’s initial foray into the music world saw him record an album in Sweden which would unfortunately never see the light of day due to the band splitting up just prior to its release.
Having garnered a support slot with Arctic Monkeys which aided him in formulating his now legendary relationship with Last Shadow Puppets cohort Alex Turner, the band’s ‘Put Your Dukes Up John’ impressed the Sheffield indie rockers so much that they covered it on their Leave Before The Lights Come On EP.
Entitled Today Is Not The Day, their once lost debut album is set to finally emerge as part of Deltasonic’s 2016 series of reissues.
Speaking of its impending release, Kane stated that: “I’m excited to finally be able to drop the needle in this particular groove! I had a lot of good times with The Flames and I have very fond memories of making this record. I’m delighted that everyone is able to now hear what we collectively created.”
