Mac Demarco and The Flaming Lips to release joint EP

THE FLAMING LIPS’ legendary frontman Wayne Coyne has revealed that the band will release a new collaborative EP with none other than Mac Demarco.

What is sure to be a dream partnership for many, this fusion of Oklahoma’s most prolific psych-pop outfit and the hazy sounds of the cult Canadian singer/songwriter will see both artists covering three of each others songs.

With Mac set to be aided in this task by the ‘Afternoon Delight Ensemble’, the news follows the announcement of the two artists’ joint tour which takes place in numerous US cities next month.

Announced on Coyne’s Instagram account alongside a video of him experimenting with Mac’s Salad Days era fan favourite Chamber Of Reflection, the project is set to be released on vinyl/cassette. Check out the announcement below:
