ARCTIC MONKEYS’ Matt Helders has recently provided some information on the band’s forthcoming new record.
In the midst of a chat with a fan whilst attending Royal Blood’s recent show at LA’s The Wiltern, Matt Helders chose to divulge a bit of insight into when the long-awaited album can be expected.
Derived from the Instagram account of n Arctic Monkeys devotee known as ‘scummyman’, the fellow concert-goer posted a picture of him and the revered drummer and replied to an enquiry from a user (AmadorRecords) about whether he probed him on new material to which he claimed “I did, he told me hopefully by the end of the year.”
With Helders no longer touring as part of Iggy Pop’s ‘Post Pop Depression’ era band and Alex Turner changing his look in a manner that normally signifies a new record from the indie rock kingpins from Sheffield, this is the first piece of tenuous correspondence that’s arrived from a band member in terms of whether there is work underway.
