MEMBERS of esteemed bands Slowdive, Editors and Glasgow’s own Mogwai have joined forces for a new supergroup.
Dubbed Minor Victories, the new act is comprised of Mogwai’s legendary Stuart Braithwaite, Editor’s Justin Lockey, James Lockey of Hand Held Cine Club and Rachel Goswell of shoegaze icons Slowdive.
The aforementioned James Lockey confirmed the band’s existence, stating that:
“So there’s a record (like a real long player from back in the day) being made, a band being formed, noise being traded, analogies being thrown around between Rachel Goswell (Slowdive), Justin Lockey (Editors), Stuart Braithwaite (Mogwai), James Lockey (handheldcineclub). There’s some other people involved too but more on that later… For the time being, it’s sounding fucking class.’
It has also been revealed that Mark Kozelek of Sun Kil Moon will duet with Goswell upon one track.
