THE NATIONAL have announced an extensive UK tour  which features two Edinburgh shows and a brand new single.

Set to be their first full length release since the superb Trouble Will Find Me, the Cleveland, Ohio-based group have slowly eked out information about new album Sleep Holy Beast over the course of the week until it has finally culminated in the unveiling of new offering ‘The System Only Dreams In Total Darkness.’

With frontman Matt Berninger hinting towards the record possessing a ‘darker sound’ that may take some sections of their audience aback, this first offering is something of a curveball in its exuberance and features bursts of frantic guitar alongside their atypically emotive swells.

In the wake of the album’s release, the band will set sail on a world tour which includes shows at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on the 20th & 21st September among many others across the UK.

Pre-sale is slated to begin on Monday 15th May before general sale gets in full swing on the Friday 19th.
