THE brand new Clyde Rocks radio station will launch today at 8pm.
Set to begin transmitting tonight from 8pm, the new station will provide listeners with Scotland’s first dedicated rock outlet since the closure of Real XS and has promised the best music and sport in the west.
Initially allowing listeners to tune in via DAB, those behind the new Clyde 1 subsidiary hope to attain a license for FM after the current 30 day trail period.
Set to feature DJ’s such as Fraser Thomson, Mike Richardson and John Milne, the station’s will run for 24 hours a day and is populated by shows such as ‘Rock And Goals’, ‘Weekend Rock’ and ‘Classic Clyde Rocks.’
It is as yet unknown what definition of ‘rock’ will be prevalent within their playlist or whether the station will provide opportunities for burgeoning bands to gain all-important airplay but it is no doubt an exciting development and one which has every capability to succeed within the West of Scotland’s culturally diverse landscape.
Tune into the first day of the test transmission from 8pm tonight.
