Gorillaz_35AN album that has remained shrouded in mystery, it has now been revealed that both frequent collaborators De La Soul and West Coast G-funk legend Snoop Dogg will appear on the upcoming Gorillaz record.

With the band entering a period of inactivity following their extremely productive year in 2010 which saw them produce not one but two albums in Plastic Beach and The Fall, the news follows frontman Damon Albarn’s appearance on De La Soul’s latest effort And The Anonymous Nobody. 

Having previously appeared on Gorillaz tracks such as ‘Feel Good Inc’ and ‘Superfast Jellyfish’, Pos of the legendary hip-hop trio clarified their relationship and made it all too clear that they’ll be included on the new release:

“Collaborations come when we feel we’ve got something that would be a great match for an artist. With Damon, it was easy because we love working with him. We’re about to be on the new Gorillaz album.”

Adding that they’ heard the new record and it ‘sounds amazing’, other collaborators and rumoured contributors include Liam Bailley, Massive Attack (announced in a since deleted tweet),  Jean Michel Jarre and Chicago MC Vic Mensa.
