new arts documentary film festival will bring music talent to Glasgow next month. 

The BBC’s brand new festival, Art Screen, boasts names like Jarvis Cocker of Pulp and rockumentary legend Julien Temple on the bill. Temple has created films showcasing a wide collection of stars including David Bowie, Joe Strummer and Glastonbury in his time. Temple’s film ‘Rio’ will open the festival on Thursday 10th April.

Jarvis Cocker recently attended SXSW festival in Austin where his film ‘The Big Melt’ screened. The Brit-pop legend will attend a special Q&A event following the screening of his film on Friday 11th April at the Glasgow Film Theatre. The event will be hosted by author Paul Morley and director of ‘The Big Melt’ Martin Wallace will also join.

The festival will also host Art Screen at Night in the city’s CCA venue, where DJ’s including Jonnie Wilkes will provide the entertainment until the early hours.
