GLASGOW’S East End will play host to an exciting new independent record label market this summer across Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd July.

Taking place in the city’s Barras Art and Design Centre, the event will allow some of Scotland’s best independent record labels to come together under the one roof to sell an eclectic array of products to the public. Not only will the weekend provide an excellent platform for our brilliant independent labels and artists, but it will also give record collectors the opportunity to discover some exciting new music and hidden gems.

Having already proved successful in Aberdeen, the inaugural Glasgow event will be brought to you by 23rd Precinct Music, the Scottish Music Industry Association (SMIA) and 57 Degrees North. The market will run from 11am-6pm on Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sunday, while admission is free.

Robert Kilpatrick, Projects and Operations Manger of the SMIA said: “Having worked with 57 Degrees North for the last three years on Independent Record Label Market: Aberdeen, we’re delighted to announce the inaugural Independent Record Label Market: Glasgow, now also working with our friends at 23rd Precinct Music,

“The SMIA is committed to representing and developing Scotland’s music industry, and label markets are a fantastic way to champion our country’s recorded output, as well as support Scotland’s independent record labels and artists. We look forward to seeing both music fans and industry practitioners gather together at BAaD on 22 and 23 July for what will be a great weekend for all”
