MUSIC titans Pitchfork Media have been acquired by Conde Nast.
Set to become part of a stable which includes powerful publications such as Vanity Fair and Vogue, Pitchfork has long stood as one of the most defiant and brash independent sites and have garnered a stellar reputation for shining a spotlight on the best new talent.
Founded by Ryan Schreiber in 1995, the acquisition will take immediate effect however details of precisely how much Conde Nast paid have not been divulged.
Speaking in a statement, Schreiber has said that “Their belief in what we do, combined with their additional expertise and resources, will allow us to extend our coverage of the artists and stories that shape the music landscape on every platform.”
It has also been revealed that the quarterly publication ‘The Pitchfork Review” and their immensely popular ‘Pitchfork Festival’ will continue.
