PLAYGROUND Festival have added a second wave of artists to next year’s bill.

Last week, the Rouken Glen festival revealed that it would be headlined by Underworld, Kraftwerk and Nile Rodgers & Chic when it returns in 2021. The three-day event, which was rescheduled due to Covid-19, will now go ahead on July 30 to August 1 2021.

Organisers have now revealed a stellar line-up of international artists who will descend on Glasgow next summer. Joining the three headliners, Playground have added electro-pop icon Gary Numan, John Hopkins LIVE, Kelis, Neneh Cherry, The Wailers and Martha Reeves and The Vandellas to the lineup – with a final ‘special guest’ still to come.

They will be joined by homegrown artists Colonel Mustard, Pictish Trail, Stephanie Cheape, Optimo, Harri & Domenic, Auntie Flo, Nightwave, Rebecca Vasmant and Lezzer Quest.

Ashleigh Elliott of Playground Festival said: “We’re delighted to announce wave two of our line-up and we are sure fans will agree it’s pretty much insane.

“There is much more to announce including a major special guest which we are really excited about! At Playground HQ we have been blown away by the amazing response to last week’s headliner reveal of Underworld, Kraftwerk 3-D, Nile Rodgers and CHIC”

Tickets are £159 for the three-day weekend and £59 for individual days and they go on sale tomorrow (Thursday 26th Nov) at 9am via playgroundfestival.co.uk.
