ARMED with a penchant for awe-inspiring choruses, exquisitely crafted synth pop and a healthy dose of new wave romanticism, Other Humans have spent their relatively short time together ensuring that anyone who has the pleasure of crossing paths with their musical wares are unlikely to forget them in a hurry.
Supporting a veritable who’s-who of Scotland’s finest bands and cementing their place as ones to watch with their resoundingly well received set on the T Break Stage, those who’d been captured by the sizable charms of tracks such as ‘Valley’ and ‘In Future’ have patiently waited to hear more from this rising outfit.
Now, TTV are delighted to premiere the track and accompanying video for ‘Goths In Hot Weather’, their brand new single and one which will be marked with a special launch show at Glasgow’s The Hug and Pint this Friday.
Bustling with exuberance and aligned with the output of prominent acts such as Future Islands, Metronomy and Toro Y Moi, ‘Goths In Hot Weather’ is a meticulously executed slice of alluring modern pop that showcases their multi-faceted sound and their stellar lyrical prowess.
With frontman Darren Martin adopting a playful vocal style that adds an extra level of intrigue to the proceedings, ‘Goths In Hot Weather’ is another excellent addition to their catalogue and one which is sure to reinforce the goodwill which the industry has toward their captivating output.
Its accompanying video follows the day to day life of a young woman as she navigates through and grapples with the tropes of modern existence. Expressed via a range of dizzying effects which reflect her inner conflict and featuring the band watching on passively as her mental state continues to deteriorate, the video is a fitting accompaniment for the song’s lyrical content and demonstrates that the band have clear, concise vision for their music.
