QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE have clarified that work on their upcoming album is well underway with a series of candid photos from inside the studio.

After the news that they’d conspired to release a new record over the course of this calendar year was revealed by Mastadon’s Troy Sanders whilst discussing his new side project with QOTSA guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen, this is among the first official acknowledgements from the band themselves.

Never one to divulge too much information, the recently posted Instagram photos are cloaked in mystery and feature artful shots of everything from guitars to a plethora of equipment and even a rather striking in-studio mascot.

Speculated to be in the pipeline for several years after the release of 2013’s phenomenal Like Clockwork, it is also believed that the record’s arrival will spark the beginning of a lengthy world tour.
