RADIOHEAD have announced details of a special streaming event to take place on Friday 17th June at record stores across the globe.
The band have detailed that the “unique Radiohead worldwide event” will include “an exclusive day long stream, competitions, instructional artworks and more.”
The event, a collaboration between the band and XL Recordings, includes an audio broadcast arranged by the band as well as a “very special” two hour live set, playing songs from A Moon Shaped Pool amongst old favourites from their extensive back catalogue.
The band have recently confirmed that they “have assembled pre-recorded piped music to be played through the walls of” the various record stores.
There will also be prizes to be given out to fans who attend the in-store events, with winners receiving such items as a selection of Trumpton-style figurines used in the Burn The Witch video, screen-prints from the artwork series for the Moon Shaped Pool album and a 35mm celluloid print of the Paul Thomas Anderson directed ‘Daydreaming’ video in a film canister.
The unique broadcast starts at 12pm on the shop stereo, with the live set to be broadcast from 6pm.
Glasgow’s Monorail is one of only 14 record stores in the UK selected to participate in staging the event. The event is not ticketed, fans can turn up to the venue on a first come first served basis. Full stores are listed below:
