RICHARD Ashcroft has confirmed his live return with two festival dates in Switzerland and Mexico City later this year.

The Verve legend will make his first live appearance since 2013 later this year at Zermatt Unplugged in Zurich, Switzerland on 22nd October. This gig will be a solo, acoustic slot. He will then follow this up with a set at Corona Capital in Mexico City, Mexico on 22nd November.

Ashcroft last appeared on a major festival stage at Latitude in 2013, although last year he did do a gig in Dubai.

The last time Ashcroft was quoted on his thoughts about The Verve getting back together was in 2013 when he said: “It’s not happening. You have to be real in life and I’m proud that we went in and recorded new material. The whole nostalgia thing is getting suffocating and it’s difficult for younger acts, especially at festivals.”
