RM HUBBERT needs your help.

The well-loved singer-songwriter from Glasgow, affectionately known as Hubby, has always been open and honest about his mental health issues in the past and how they have affected his life. However, last night he took to Facebook to reveal that they had recently taken a turn for the worse. In a deeply personal post, Hubbert paid tribute to the NHS mental health crisis team as he revealed that his illness had deteriorated so dramatically during last year after the release of his Telling The Trees album that he was ultimately unable to work for a large amount of time.

Thankfully now on the road to recovery however, he has signaled his intentions to make a gradual return to music with the release of a new covers EP on Bandcamp, titled ‘Recovery EP1’. With four beautiful covers included, it  features  his interpretations of tracks by Sebadoh, the Minutemen, Kathryn Joseph, and Sparklehorse.

He said: “The illness has stopped me working for the best part of a year. My savings are gone and  whilst I’m getting better, I’m not emotionally stable enough to return to a normal job. I’m slowly returning to music full time but in the meantime, I need to ask you for a little help. It would be fucking awesome if you could a) Buy a copy of the attached covers EP and b) Share this post for me. Thank you.”

As one of Scotland’s most unique and fiercely talented musical forces, TTV encourages readers to lend their support to RM Hubbert and buy the EP here.
