THE full line-up for the inaugural edition of The Scottish Alternative Music Awards’ Paisley Takeover has been announced.
Set to take hold of the historic and industrious town over the course of Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd March, the complete bill has now been unveiled to the public and it is one that encapsulates the fiercely independent spirit of the SAMA’S.
Joining artists such as Pronto Mama, SWAY and Siobhan Wilson, the festival’s opening day will be headlined by the hybrid of The Twilight Sad’s James Graham and Kathryn Joseph known as Outlines at the Paisley Arts Centre alongside a support slot from Heir Of The Cursed. Prior to the show getting underway in the main hall, attendees are set to be welcomed by spoken word from Rab Blair and Shaun Moore with beverages provided by Pistonhead Lager.
Elsewhere, one of the nation’s most hotly tipped prospects will be decamping to local record store Feel The Groove as the soon-to-be SXSW bound Emme Woods will perform a rare and intimate live session.
After the previous line-up announcement established an informative element to the event with a music workshop from The Vegan Leather, this has now been expanded with new panels and talks featuring representatives from DIY collectives El Rancho, J-Bone and Public, Jim Gellatly, former Simple Minds manager Bruce Findlay, Vic Galloway and Tenement TV’s own Nadine Walker to name a few.
