THE STROKES’ lead guitarist Nick Valensi has debuted ‘CRX’, a new band which will release their debut album later this year.
With Valensi previously choosing to abstain from dipping into the sometimes murky waters of side projects which restless or creatively stunted musicians find themselves in the birth of this new group (which also features members of The Dose, Willowz and The Reflections) has made him the last member of the illustrious NYC garage rockers to have ventured off on his own.
Tellingly entitled New Skin, the new album has been produced by none other than Queens Of The Stone Age/EODM’s Josh Homme and Andrew Scheps; the engineer behind records from bands such as Black Sabbath, Green Day, Metallica and more.
Speaking in a brief Twitter Q&A, Nick has revealed that the band will aim to head to the UK in the near future and also revealed that The Strokes’ Fab Moretti played an important role in the album.
New Skin will be released on the 28th October.
