MEMBERS of two legendary hip hop groups are joining forces for a special show at Saint Luke’s in Glasgow on Friday 30th June.
Melle Mel and Scorpio from Grandmaster Flash and Furious Five and Sugarhill Gang’s Hen Dog, Master Gee and Wonder Mike will come together for what is sure to be one of hip hop’s finest moments of the year.
Widely regarded as forefathers of the genre, Sugarhill Gang first emerged in 1979 and and were thrust into the public eye thanks to the global success of their massive hit ‘Rapper’s Delight’. Meanwhile, after being signed to the Sugarhill label themselves, The Famous Five broke through with ‘The Message’ before going onto achieve massive success with the likes of ‘White Lines’, ‘Step Off’ and ‘Beat Street’.
