T IN THE PARK has revealed the full lineup for the 2015 festival, with a host of stellar names making up the bill. Joining The Libertines who were already confirmed will be Kasabian, Avicii, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, The Prodigy, David Guetta, and Stereophonics.
This year will be the first time the festival has taken place at its new home Strathallan Castle, moving away from its old location in Balado.
Kasabian will have the honours of being the first band to Headline the new main stage, when they close the Friday night. Their hugely successful album 48:13 proved that they still cut it at the top of the business, as it hit no.1 on the album charts.
Noel Gallagher will add a little bit of history to the event, as he will become the first artist to play at each of the festival’s three homes. He first appeared with Oasis back in 1994 when the festival was held at Strathclyde Country Park, and then again in 2002 at Balado. This time he’ll be taking his solo project to Strathallan Castle, with their new album Chasing Yesterday set for release shortly.
Not to be outdone, The Prodigy will also score a hat-trick of T in the Park venues. The kings of electronic dance music will light up the Sunday at the festival.
Further down the bill is Irish singer-songwriter Hozier, who had a massive 2014. You can watch our session with him here. There is also the supremely popular Alt-J, whose recent album This Is All Yours earned them nominations at the Brit Awards for Best Album and Best British Band.
Kodaline are another Irish export ripping up the music industry. Their soft rock that flows between ebullience and tragedy has made them a firm favourite with festival goers. You can watch our session with them here. Catfish and the Bottlemen’s debut album The Balcony was released in September last year, and announced them as one of the hottest indie bands on the scene right now. You can check out our session with them here.
Jamie T made a return last year with his album Carry On The Grudge (read our review here). It was a long time in the coming but well worth the wait.
The lineup has a mix of big names and current or up and coming bands. Festival Director Geoff Ellis said: “This year is going to be a very special one for T in the Park as we make the beautiful grounds of Strathallan Castle our new home, and we’re thrilled that some of the biggest artists in the world will be joining us in this historic first year.
T in the Park will take place between the 10 – 12 July this year. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday the 27th February. Click here for more information.
