TAME IMPALA’s figurehead and creative force Kevin Parker has revealed that we can expect a string of high profile collaborations to emerge in the near future.
Fresh from revitalising Lady Gaga’s sound on recent single ‘Perfect Illusion’, the Australian born artist is no stranger to collaborations and delivered a phenomenal revamped version of Miguel’s ‘Waves’ earlier this year.
Detailing the rewarding nature of working alongside Gaga, he spoke of his difference between writing lyrics as a solitary activity and doing so with another musician:
“It’s the first time I’ve verbally, physically voiced ideas of how to put lyrics together, and the first time I’ve had a conversation about how this verse, or this line, or this rhyme is going to go together. It’s the first time I’ve ever had that out in the open – normally that whole conversation just happens inside my head. It was quite a weird sensation.”
When asked whether there were more collaborations on the way, Parker; who reinvented himself in many ways on Tame Impala’s phenomenal Currents, he made it evident that we could expect to hear some in the near future:
“There’s definitely a few other things coming up. You don’t have to be switched on to realise that if I do this, and then this happens… it’s just the way the music world works, you know? So there’s going to be other things happening, but I think I’d be ruining it if I mentioned who.”
