KATHRYN JOSEPH has been declared the recipient of the Scottish album of the year at the SAY Awards for Bones You Have Thrown Me and Blood I’ve Spilled.
Hotly contested by a myriad of great artists after being whittled down from the initial 20 to just 10 records, the eventual winner has picked up a whopping prize of £20,000 as well as the esteem that goes along with garnering the prestigious honour.
A record that we previously described as ‘truly an awe inspiring feat; featuring hints of artists ranging from Bjork to Nina Simone and Billie Holiday’, the LP sees Kathryn taking home the prize with her debut full length effort.
With the ceremony held at the 02 ABC whilst being simultaneously streamed live to the masses, it proved to be an exciting evening with live sets from not only Young Fathers, but burgeoning acts such as Golden Teacher, Tuff Love and Loki and the Kartel.
Congratulations to Kathryn Joseph for this incredibly well deserved accolade.
