THE Arches staff members have posted protest notes on the front door of the venue following its closure due to forced administration.
The notes posted under an official sign reading “The Arches is now closed :(” were handwritten and in post-it form. They read: “Close down corrupt Glasgow Council and Police Scotland”, “Not The Arches!”, “Hands off art and culture” and “#SaveTheArches”. Read them below:
The closure comes following the removal of the venues’ nightclub licence after alleged drug issues in the club. The removal of the venue’s late licence forced the venue into administration since it equated for 50% of the companies revenue.
A petition is currently live online with over 10,000 signatures to reinstate the club’s late licence. You can sign the petition via Change.org.
