Scottish outfit The Jesus And Mary Chain have stunned the world by announcing that they’re working on a new LP.

The architects of seminal LP’s such as Pyschocandy and Darklands not to mention a group that has left an indelible mark on the music industry, frontman Jim Reid made the revelation during a recent interview with Timeout New York and stated that they’d “started recording.”

Having abstained from venturing into the studio since the release of 1998’s Munki, the past few years have saw the band touring the world and performing the unparalleled Psychocandy in its entirety.

Speaking in reference to the direction of the band’s new output, Reid has claimed that “It’s early days, but I’d say it’s a more mature sound for The Mary Chain.”

To say that we’re excited to hear the fruits of their labour would be a severe understatement.
