the_strokesTHE Strokes have confirmed they are to go back in the studio and record new material.

The news came from Julian Casablancas during a headline slot at Landmark Music Festival in Washington, DC yesterday (Sunday 27th September). Fans confirmed the news on Twitter revealing Casablancas said: “We’ll be back soon. We’ll be back in the studio and shit.”

The Strokes released their last album ‘Comedown Machine’ in 2013. The band, who played a couple of shows during the summer including Primavera Sound festival and Hyde Park in London, have been busy with solo pursuits as well as production work including Albert Hammond Jr’s recent work with The View.

Julian Casablancas + The Voidz were scheduled to play a series of live dates across the US and Canada during September and October but was forced to cancel the dates.
