TRNSMT Festival closed 2025 in spectacular style, as music fans packed Glasgow Green for a euphoric third and final day that blended breakout talent, iconic headliners, and unforgettable moments.

Scotland’s biggest music festival was a high-energy celebration from the moment the gates opened on Friday – and today, gig-goers got to enjoy a legendary lineup in 26-degree heat.

Headlining the Main Stage, Snow Patrol delivered an emotionally-charged set that reminded fans why they’re one of the UK’s most beloved bands. Performing classics such as ‘Open Your Eyes’ and ‘Chasing Cars’ to a swaying crowd, the Northern Irish rockers closed the festival by saying how happy they were to be back in the city where they formerly lived.

Also on the Main Stage, Gracie Abrams resonated with a raw and powerful set that set an intimate tone, even in the midst of thousands of fans, to close her European tour. One person amongst the crowd held a sign telling Gracie that this was the twentieth time she had seen her live… this year (see fan stories in notes to eds).

Set against a striking silver background and flagged by dancers dressed in white, iconic popstar JADE opened with her fierce burn track, ‘IT Girl’. She shared that she was excited to be back in Glasgow for the first time since her Little Mix days, telling fans to ‘gie it laldy’.

Scottish singer Tom Walker vibed with the crowd before making a romantic dedication to his wife with the song ‘Just You And I’. And to cap off a powerful performance, he surprised the crowd with special guest, Cammy Barnes, on bagpipes for a belting close with ‘Leave A Light On’.

Earlier in the day, fresh from the viral success of their latest hit ‘Arabella’, Nathan Evans and The Saint Phnx Band shared a special announcement, revealing that they’ll be playing the OVO Hydro on 25 October. Nathan said: “To be able to announce that I’m playing the Hydro on stage at TRNSMT, in front of the fans who’ve helped make it happen, is the stuff dreams are made of.”

The Smirnoff Present King Tut’s Stage saw indie legends Shed Seven perform a set full of 90s anthems. The day also featured performances from the very best of Scotland’s singers, including Nina Nesbitt and Brooke Combe, who brought a huge amount of energy to the stage.

Other highlights from the final day of Scotland’s biggest festival included Nell Mescal who was one of the standouts of the day as she drew one of the largest crowds at the BBC Introducing stage from the whole weekend.

Glasgow singer, Rianne Downey, returned to TRNSMT for her own solo set, having previously performed with Beautiful South legend Paul Heaton in 2023.

The View frontman, Kyle Falconer, played a mix of his biggest hits, including ‘Stress Ball’ and ‘Grace’ to a bouncing crowd at Smirnoff presents King Tut’s Stage.

The BBC Introducing Stage spotlighted rising stars, from Matilda Mann’s dreamy, intimate set to Aaron Rowe’s raw vocals and Ben Ellis’s polished indie pop. Earlier, Dictator, Kuleeangee, and Pat Hamilton brought energy, edge, and charm to the afternoon lineup.

The BBC Radio 1 Dance Stage delivered nonstop energy, including Jazzy’s euphoric closing set and Beth’s flawless house grooves. Charlie Hedges, Sarah Story, and Kane Kirkpatrick kept the beats flowing from start to finish.

Geoff Ellis, Festival Director of TRNSMT, said: “This year’s festival has undoubtedly been one of the best to date. While the weather has certainly been one of our star bookings, it’s the fans who have truly made the weekend so special – a passionate, welcoming mix of ages, united in their love of live music and creating an atmosphere that has been nothing short of exceptional.

“Glasgow Green has provided a perfect setting once again, with the natural shade under the trees offering fans the opportunity to take respite from the sunshine and enjoy the surroundings at their own pace.

“Musically, the weekend has delivered some outstanding moments – Biffy Clyro gave a phenomenal headline performance, Fontaines D.C. drew a huge and energetic crowd, and Underworld brought an electrifying, club-like energy to the Smirnoff presents King Tut’s Stage on Saturday night, following a fantastic set from Jake Bugg.

“It’s also been a pleasure to showcase emerging talent – Nell Mescal, Alessi Rose, and Nieve Ella all gave impressive performances and are certainly names to watch for the future.

“I’m incredibly proud of what the entire team has accomplished this year, and I’d like to thank every artist and fan for contributing to such a memorable festival.”
