trainspotting2posterSPECULATION suggests that the soundtrack for Danny Boyle’s hotly anticipated Trainspotting 2 has emerged online.

Given the enduring adoration which the music in its predecessor continues to receive, a lot has been made of whether the sequel would incorporate tracks from artists such as Lou Reed, Iggy Pop and others which were the cornerstone of the 1996 classic or boldly branch out into the 21st century.

Upon examination of the tracklisting which was added to Amazon before being swiftly removed, it’s clear that they’ve not only retained the aesthetic of the original but also leapt into modern times with tracks from artists ranging from Fat White Family and The Rubberbandits to Underworld, The Prodigy and Blondie.

Featured most heavily of all the newcomers are Scotland’s very own Young Fathers, with the group’s tracks ‘GET UP’, ‘Only God Knows’ and ‘Rain Or Shine’ all allegedly set for inclusion.
