THE
often speculated upon sequel to Trainspotting is slated to begin shooting in the Summer of 2016.

Officially confirmed by director Danny Boyle after rumours swirled round the internet for a number of months, this new development means that the film’s release could well coincide with the 20th anniversary of the legendary movie.

With an iconic soundtrack which featured tracks from Iggy Pop, Lou Reed and Underworld, Trainspotting has risen in stature from its meager beginnings and low budget to become one of the most revered documents of counter-culture to have ever been committed to film.

While many would have assumed that the film will follow the same story arc as Irvine Welsh’s ‘Porno’, director Boyle has revealed that the script written by John Hodge is its own thing entirely.

Taking place ten years after the events of the original film, it’ll be intriguing to see what they choose to include as part of its score.
