SCOTLAND’S new and exciting festival due to take place in Glasgow Green this summer has revealed the first acts to play including Radiohead, Kasabian, Biffy Clyro, Belle & Sebastian, Catfish and the Bottlemen, The 1975 and Twin Atlantic.

Taking place over three days from 7th – 9th July 2017, the event will also see London Grammar, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, George Ezra, The Kooks, Circa Waves, Two Door Cinema Club and Blossoms play with more bands to be announced at a later date.

TTV spoke to Head of DF Concerts and TRNSMT Festival organiser Geoff Ellis earlier today who commented on the line-up and plans saying for one of the most exciting events of the summer. Talking about the line-up he said: “If we could have pinned the event on anyone, Radiohead were it. They’ve not played Scotland since 2008 and so it’s great to have them back.

“And then you’ve got the likes of Catfish and the Bottlemen, The 1975 and Belle & Sebastian who could headline in their own right.”

Talking about the chance for new and emerging talent at this year’s TRNSMT Festival, Ellis said: “We’re going to have a King Tut’s stage as well as the Main Stage which will be for emerging talent. I mean that’s what King Tut’s does, it was the place where Radiohead first played in Scotland.

“We were the first venue to ever give them hot food on tour, I cooked it myself. Back in the day when I was literally, cook, bottle washer, promoter and venue manager. Hopefully headliners of the future will be found on that stage.”
