TV producers are in talks with Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr about a performance at New York’s Ed Sullivan Theatre in celebration of the original performance fifty years ago.

Producers at The Letterman Show are said to be in talks with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr regarding a performance at the Theatre. Their original performance on The Ed Sullivan show fifty years ago kicked-off Beatlemania and producers are keen to recapture the moment in the very same room.

Neither Beatle has yet expressed a desire to perform together in 2014. The pair last reunited on stage at a benefit for the David Lynch Foundation.

Starr said in 2011: “We are good friends. We don’t live in each other’s pockets, but if we’re in the same country, we get together … We’re the only two who’ve experienced all this who are still here.”
