VAN Morrison is the latest addition to the Celtic Connections line-up. The singer-songwriter will play The Royal Concert Hall on January 26th.
The winter festival will take place between 15th January and 1st February throughout venues in Glasgow.
Van Morrison has worked with the likes of Bob Dylan, Ray Charles and Tom Jones and throughout his career has won six Grammys, an Ivor Novello Award, an OBE and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The 22nd installment of the winter festival will kick off with an opening concert paying tribute to Martyn Bennett, the Scottish musician known for fusing traditional songs with electronica, who died of cancer in 2005.
Among the other acts lined up are the veteran folk-rock band Fairport Convention who will play the Royal Concert Hall on 16th January, Americana aces Lambchop who will perform their classic album Nixon in full at the Old Fruitmarket on 31st January and homegrown talent such as Eddi Reader on 20th January.
