LAST Thursday saw the leading lights of Glasgow’s music scene come together to celebrate the life of The Lapelles’ Gary Watson at The Priory.
Featuring performances from hotly tipped acts such as Baby Strange, WHITE, Declan Welsh and a reformed incarnation of The Rockalls, footage has emerged which has captured the sheer elation and energy which the event inspired among those in attendance.
With the bar absolutely packed to the rafters, a video of Baby Strange tearing through a joyous rendition of live favourite ‘Pure Evil’ has surfaced online and sees the band performing in front of a rabidly excitable crowd that came out in their droves to pay tribute to a well loved musician and upstanding person.
There’s still plenty of time to donate to Dead Beet Records’ immensely successful Justgiving page which has raised well over £9000 for Gary’s family and surpassed its original target of £4000.
