EDINBURGH’S annual music convention event Wide Days is currently open for band submissions until 29th January.
The event which takes place on 22nd and 23rd April 2015 in Edinburgh’s The Pleasance and Electric Circus venue, provides breakthrough bands with a platform to showcase their material in front of industry experts in Scotland.
Scottish bands can apply to play the event over the next few weeks. Those successful will be provided with travel expenses, food and drink rider and passes to the event.
Wide Days was launched in 2010 and is Scotland’s only music-business convention. In 2014 it was named Best Networking Event at the Yearly Music Convention Awards and was runner up in the same category in 2015.
Wide Days has attracted key music industry players from the UK, US, Norway, Iceland and the Netherlands, and in 2014 featured a special focus on the German music market. Moreover, the conference was used for the Scottish launch of the Music Venue Trust, as well as the Off Axis gigging network.
Previous bands who have played the convention include Tijuana Bibles, Ded Rabbit and Catholic Action.
