AS he looked around the packed venue, he made a little appreciative nod. Touring solid for two years now, nineteen-year-old Jake Bugg has polished off a live set worthy of 02’s Academy and tonight a rapturous applause greets him and his guitar on stage.

Playing a set packed with classics and new tracks from his forth-coming album Shangri-La, Bugg kicked things off with There’s a Beast and We All Feed It, followed by the infectious Trouble Town- with its solid chorus this track etched its way through to your bones.

There were fans climbing onto their friends shoulders by the time Two Fingers was played, this and proceeding Taste It, new single Slumville Sunrise and another new track What Doesn’t Kill You all going down well with the rowdy crowd.

An encore of Broken, Neil Young’s My My, Hey Hey and Lightening Bolt finished off an excellent gig from one of the UK’s most promising artists. Excelling in song writing and creating catchy hits, Bugg is sure to continue winning hearts and filling dancefloors in an indie disco near you for years to come.
