OFTEN
finding themselves lazily categorised as a ‘shoegaze’ band, to attach such a tag to A Sunny Day In Glasgow merely scratches the surface of the sonic depths which they’ve wandered into over the course of their time together.

Hailing from Philidelphia, this tremendously talented outfit have remained steadfast in their efforts to create some of the most jaw-dropping alternative pop that’s ever been released into the public domain and have achieved remarkable things on LP’s such as 2014’s Sea When Absent.

Wasting little time and seemingly raring to get back into the swing of things, they’ve released the mesmeric ‘Jet Black, Starlit.’

Bursting into life with rigorous guitar lines and vocal work which contains a real sense of mysticism, a lesser band wouldn’t have managed to pull all of the track’s elements together and would’ve produced something truly cacophonous. However, In the hands of A Sunny Day In Glasgow, its fizzling basslines, cold synths and wistful harmonica come together to once again prove that their sound is as formidable and engaging as anyone plying their trade in the music industry today.

‘Jet Black, Star Lit’ will appear on Planning Weed Like It’s Acid/Life Is Loss, their upcoming double  EP which shall emerge on the 13th November 2015.
