The band: Acrylic are a Glasgow based indie-rock quintet. They are making a name for themselves in and around Glasgow, with slots supporting bands such as The Hoosiers, Vigo Thieves and Sunshine Social. They recently performed at Tenement TV’s Tenement Trail where they filled Nice ‘N’ Sleazy’s in a day time slot. They also made their TV debut on The Riverside Show, and have had extensive radio play.
The sound: New single ‘I Know’ has hints of fellow Scots Model Aeroplanes about it, in the sense that it has a poppy, fun riff incorporated. However unlike Model Aeroplanes there is a darker overtone too. The song has many layers, taking the listener through a serious of emotions that all fit seamlessly together.
The lowdown: They will launch their single with a headline show at Cabaret Voltaire, Edinburgh, on Saturday 20th December.
