THREE years ago when Alabama Shakes were blowing up following the release of debut album Boys & Girls, guitarist Heath Fogg made the comment that the band were considering an experimental electronic route for record number two – a quite contentious notion considering the band had amassed a loyal following and shifted over 70,000 records with their expert meld of blues and soul.

Nevertheless, true to his word the band done exactly that and if first week sales are to be believed, it’s a gamble that’s paid off. Massively. Sound & Color debuted at number one both in the US Billboard 200 and the UK vinyl charts, with any doubt that The Shakes weren’t one of the biggest bands in the world right now comfortably quelled.

Now the four piece have readied a video for the album title track. Set in outer space, a disorientated cadet finds himself having flashbacks to life on earth and wondering how just he got there – the feeling of desolation compounded by the mysterious vibraphone opening and plaintive strings. They play T in the Park on 12th July 2015.
