WISTFUL, sumptuous and containing just the right amount of cynicism and heartbreak , Alvvays have been an indie pop poster child ever since the release of their eponymous debut in mid 2014.

Three year on from its emphatic arrival and we’re ready to swoon over their tales of longing and summery idealism once again when their sophomore effort Antisocialites makes its way to our ears next month.

The second single to be taken from the record, the band have now unveiled the shimmering ‘Dreams Tonite’ and it encapsulates exactly what they do so well. Emulating the unrequited yet unique love stories that have long been a staple of bands ranging from The Smiths to Camera Obscura and Cocteau Twins, their dreamy sound continues to expand and shift and now contains allusions towards the more spacious, shoegaze-inspired side of the spectrum in its brooding guitars.

Alvvays will play Glasgow’s St Lukes & The Winged Ox on Sunday 27th August.
