Blur-008TO say that 2015 was the sight of a triumphant return from Blur would be quite an understatement. Continuing to promote new material in the lead-up to their much-anticipated Hyde Park show, they’ve released the video for latest single ‘Ong Ong.’

Kicking off with sun-drenched 60’s influenced melodies and aggressive acoustic guitar strums, Albarn’s signature vocal stylings soon take centre stage as he passionately proclaims ‘I wanna be with you.’

Chirpy organ and a blistering, high energy outing from Graham Coxon become prominent towards the track’s final strains, creating a sound that is sure to leave listeners elated by just how much they’ve returned to form.

Its subsequent video is an equally lighthearted and fun affair, featuring the legendary Brit-poppers dressed as ‘Mr Cream’,’Mr Brown’, ‘Mr Red’ and ‘Mr Black’ respectively; complete with outrageous attire that demonstrates the fact that they’ve more than retained their sense of humour.

Soon, a platform game bearing the title of the song begins, featuring a bouncing ball that has set out to find his missing beau in the same manner that Mario chases after Princess Peach.

Their latest LP The Magic Whip is available now, while the band are set to take to the stage in Hyde Park on the 20th June 2015 as part of this year’s British Summer Time line-up.
