THE BAND: Trying to put the raw and uncompromising nature of The Bohicas into words is perhaps best left to the band themselves –the Essex four piece once having described their sound as ‘shit that Marv from Sin City would listen to’. Influenced by everything from garage to 50’s rock and roll, the past year has been a whirlwind for the band having signed to Domino Records while notching up support slots alongside the likes of Royal Blood and Drenge.
THE SOUND: Replete with razor sharp riffs, breakneck vocals and one of the most manic solos to emerge this year, the full-throttle ‘Where You At?’ captures The Bohicas at their no-frills stomping best. Singer Dominic McGuinness spits out lyric after lyric amidst a haze of fuzzy post-punk guitars – the song a demonstration of the bands ability to keep to just the right side of chaos without the whole thing caving in.
THE VIDEO: The simple yet stylish video captures the band’s energy and showcases them doing what they do best – playing.
THE LOWDOWN: The Bohicas play a massive tour throughout May and June with their sole Scottish date coming at Glasgow’s King Tuts on 27th May 2015. ‘Where You At?’ is released on Domino Records on 1st June 2015.
