AFTER releasing her debut single on Dirty Hit last month, Edinburgh singer-songwriter Bonnie Kemplay has shared a follow-up single ‘Was It Obvious?’.

Showcasing a more intimate and vulnerable side to her songwriting, the new track is a tender ballad about a friendship coming to an end. Led by a gently picked acoustic guitar, it’s all about the singer’s vivid storytelling and universally relatable lyrics.

Bonnie explains: “Was it obvious?’ is about a friendship that was no longer working and I didn’t know why. It was like a very precarious Jenga tower that needed someone to remove that stubborn block for it to collapse, and then to build it up again. Instead, I think I just swept the whole thing into a bin.”

Having already racked up over a million streams on Spotify and opened for Adele at her recent BST Hyde Park shows, Bonnie Kemplay is slowly building a dedicated following with each release.
