BOY! RACER is the new solo project of Aylesbury’s Conor Richards, formerly of dream-pop outfit Birthday Card.

Taking influence from the likes of Her’s, Blood Orange and Porches, Richards deals in hazy alt-pop and heart-wrenching lyricism, crafting a sound that’s impossible to pin down to a single genre.

Debut single ‘People Walk In Circles’ is a captivating introduction that explores the repetition of mundanity, loss of meaning and the search for something more. The track itself is anything but mundane – driven by forceful drumbeats and bright, dreamy synth-fuelled guitar lines.

He says “The repetition of life in lockdown over the past year made me reflect on the rhythm of my own life, and the people around me, before all of this happened,” he says of the track. “What I came to realise is that ultimately, your life is what you make it. If what you want is to change, only one person can make that happen.”
