AHEAD of their big St Paddy’s Day party tonight at a sold-out McChuills, Brògeal have shared a new EP titled ‘Dirt and Daydreams’.
The five-piece from Falkirk have said that the four-track collection is an embodiment of their folk-punk sound, as well as months of hard work and dedication.
Featuring previously heard tracks like ‘Miss MCC’ and ‘Sunday Morning’, there’s also title track ‘Dirt and Daydreams’ and ‘Sam’s Song’ for listeners to get acquainted with as the band showcase their knack for melody and heartfelt anthems
With a sound rooted in Celtic tradition, full of driving acoustic guitars, twanging banjos, pounding drums and storytelling flair, the title track and showcases a softer side to their songwriting – filling out swaying melodies their with the warming sounds of an accordion. Similarly ‘Sam’s Song’ is a raw, emotive ballad performed with an acoustic guitar and elevated by choral harmonies.
