The band: Paisley’s energetic Carnivores are punk and prog-rock angrily combined. The band like to get particularly raging about football, jobs, politics, drugs, girls, boys and the James Bond.

The sound: Loud, energetic, angry, punky rock. This particular track is melodic in the good times and scatty in the bad- but thankfully, for both us and Carnivores, the scattiness is creative and well-placed. Carnivores sound in this track juxtaposes between melodically beautiful and gut-wrenchingly strong.

The video: Directed by Odin Gillies in the iconic deserted Glasgow swimming baths, the band show relentless energy as they perform Insecuricor stopping for regular anger management breaks- the kind that involve smashing guitars, picking up baseball bats, shattering mirrors into tiny shards and setting fire to a shrine. The reminents that lay in the background allow for a symbolic setting whilst the band continue to jolt around.

The lowdown: The single, played on Ally & Jen’s BBC Radio 1 show last week, is released on Monday 2nd December.
