EWAN McGregor stars in the new Catfish and the Bottlemen video for their single ‘Hourglass’. The short film is almost seven minutes long and features the iconic actor throughout.
Van McCann, the band’s frontman, gets in the lift with McGregor in a hotel at the start of the video. The short film then features McGregor humming the album track ‘Hourglass’. He then picks up a guitar and begins to sing the acoustic song. The video plays out with Ewan McGregor performing the first verse of ‘Hourglass’, with a dubbed original then playing out in its entirety.
McGregor records the song on a dictaphone, dropping it outside his hotel room. McCann then discovers the song and McGregor is found in dismay at the end of the video as he hears his song being played in McCann’s room and finishes with the line: “it’s my fucking song!”
